About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our high-performing laboratory operations team in our newly built Canning Vale facility.
This newly created role has been established to support the continued growth of the laboratory by strengthening leadership depth and coordination across operational and technical teams.
Working closely with the Laboratory Manager and broader leadership team, the Assistant Laboratory Manager will contribute to the smooth and effective running of the laboratory, supporting team performance, improving processes, and helping ensure consistent delivery of high-quality outcomes.
This role operates Monday to Friday, day shift hours.
Key Responsibilities
Support coordination across laboratory teams to ensure efficient and effective operations
Provide leadership and guidance to technical staff, supporting performance and development
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across workflows, systems and processes
Assist with operational planning, prioritisation, and resource management
Support client service delivery and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
Ensure compliance with NATA accreditation, ISO standards and internal QEMS procedures
Contribute to quality, safety, and continuous improvement across the laboratory
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant scientific discipline
Strong track record in laboratory operations, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
Solid understanding of quality systems and regulatory requirements (e.g. NATA, ISO)
Proven ability to manage workflows and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with attention to detail
Experience working within a commercial laboratory environment will be highly regarded
