Job Description

About the role

We are currently accepting applications for a Chemist position in our Inorganics section, based at our newly built Canning Vale facility in Perth. This role involves conducting a range of chemical analyses on water and soil samples using advanced laboratory techniques and instrumentation. You will play a key role in sample preparation, instrumental analysis, data processing, and quality control.

We are particularly seeking candidates who are available to work the afternoon shift, commencing at midday, with flexibility to support the operational needs of the laboratory.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sample Preparation & Analysis – Perform inorganic analysis.
  • Data Processing & LIMS Entry – Accurately interpret and report analytical results.
  • Quality Control & Compliance – Ensure all testing meets strict laboratory and industry accreditation standards.
  • Instrument Calibration & Maintenance – Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of key analytical instruments.
  • Laboratory Safety & Housekeeping – Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organised workspace.

Technical Documentation & Reporting – Ensure precise and timely documentation of all analyses

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Science (Chemistry preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience
  • Strong analytical skills & attention to detail
  • Experience with lab instrumentation such as an Autotitrator, DA or IC will be highly beneficial
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • The ability to meet deadlines & thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
