About the Role
We are currently looking for a Casual Laboratory Assistant to join our team at our brand-new Perth facility, located in Canning Vale. This modern laboratory and office space offers the latest technology, on-site parking, and contemporary amenities designed for comfort and efficiency.
This is an entry-level position with flexible hours available Monday to Friday, ideally between 8 am and 7:00 pm (minimum 30 hours per week). Afternoon availability is preferred.
The role is physically active and hands-on, involving moderate lifting and manual handling. It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to start or grow their career in laboratory work within a supportive and safety-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Perform sample sorting, weighing, and splitting of both liquid and solid sample types
Operate laboratory machinery including the LM2 Pulverising Mill and Jaw Crusher
Support Laboratory chemists and technicians with day-to-day activities
Prepare client container orders for dispatch
Maintain warehouse cleanliness and manage waste disposal
Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and PPE requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
Interest in science and laboratory work
Reliable, hardworking, and punctual
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Proactive attitude and strong attention to detail
A team player with good communication skills
BSc or Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques is advantageous but not required
