About the role
We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for the role of Supervisor Metals section in our NATA-accredited laboratory located in Chatswood, Sydney. The position is available for an immediate start and is a full-time role. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing environmental testing services, staff supervision and training, improving results, and ensuring that client deliverables are met in a timely and professional manner. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing new methodologies and optimizing processes to promote a high-performance culture.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lab Operations – Support the Lab Manager and Operations Manager in the efficient day-to-day running of the lab and drive good lab practices
Analysis – Conduct routine and non-routine and complex sample preparation, analysis and reporting and collate and review results
Quality Control – Identify, investigate and resolve issues and complaints with effective solutions
Client Services – Approve results and finalise client reports in an accurate and timely manner
Continuous Improvement – Plan and perform method development and validation for new methods, as well as implement lab and sample efficiencies
WHS – Demonstrate awareness for safety and environmental awareness, drive staff compliance with PPE and address hazards or safety issues
Housekeeping - ensure ongoing housekeeping to keep a clean workspace
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
The ideal candidate will have these qualifications and skills:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent
Previous experience in a NATA-accredited laboratory
Prior experience with analytical instruments ICP-OES, ICP-MS, CV-AAS
Strong understanding of inorganic and metal chemistry
Knowledge of analytical methods and lab QC practices
Experience with LIMS
Previous Facility Assigned Signatory status
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
