About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Asbestos Analyst to join our high-performing asbestos team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior role with a strong focus on technical excellence, mentoring, and continuous improvement.

You’ll play a pivotal role in conducting and reviewing complex asbestos identification and fibre counting, administering training programs, and driving method development and compliance in line with ISO 17025.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and review complex asbestos identification in soil and bulk materials using PLM
  • Conduct and oversee fibre counting using PCM, ensuring precision and accuracy
  • Approve and finalise analytical results and client reports
  • Provide expert technical support and advice to clients
  • Lead internal and external training programs for junior analysts and clients
  • Administer and contribute to proficiency testing programs
  • Drive method development and improvements in asbestos analysis
  • Conduct internal audits and liaise with external auditors to maintain accreditation compliance
  • Mentor and support the development of junior staff
  • Maintain strict adherence to WHS, NATA, and ISO 17025 standards

About You

We’re looking for a highly experienced asbestos analyst who thrives in a technical role and is passionate about building capability in others.

You will have:

  • A relevant science degree (e.g. Chemistry, Environmental Science)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in asbestos identification and fibre counting
  • Advanced expertise in PLM and PCM
  • Strong understanding of ISO 17025 and NATA accreditation requirements
  • Experience in training and mentoring junior analysts
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • The ability to communicate confidently and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders
