Job Description
About the role
We are seeking applications for a Laboratory Technician to join our team at our brand-new Perth facility, located in Canning Vale. This modern laboratory and office space offers the latest technology, on-site parking, and contemporary amenities designed for comfort and efficiency.
This role is offered as a full time 12-month parental leave contract, with strong potential to transition into a permanent position.
The role involves preparing samples for analysis and requires a versatile individual who can adapt to various tasks and work across multiple roles. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory processes.
Responsibilities
Sample Weighing and cleaning: Gravimetric analysis of dust filters, cleaning of equipment and reloading of media
Sample filter preparation: Sample sorting, splitting and treatment prior to analysis
Instrumentation: loading of samples, scanning and data export
Quality Control: Follow all quality control protocols to maintain high standards.
Safety: Comply with laboratory safety procedures and proper PPE usage.
Documentation: Complete all documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organised workspace through regular housekeeping.

About you
The ideal candidate will possess:
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to juggle competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
A proactive, 'can-do' attitude
Strong teamwork skills
A certificate 4 in lab techniques or BSc degree
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
Available to work the 1-9pm night shift
Physically fit, comfortable working both seated and standing
