Job Description

About the role

We are seeking applications for a Laboratory Technician to join our team at our brand-new Perth facility, located in Canning Vale. This modern laboratory and office space offers the latest technology, on-site parking, and contemporary amenities designed for comfort and efficiency.

This role is offered as a full time 12-month parental leave contract, with strong potential to transition into a permanent position.

The role involves preparing samples for analysis and requires a versatile individual who can adapt to various tasks and work across multiple roles. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory processes.

Responsibilities

  • Sample Weighing and cleaning: Gravimetric analysis of dust filters, cleaning of equipment and reloading of media
  • Sample filter preparation: Sample sorting, splitting and treatment prior to analysis
  • Instrumentation: loading of samples, scanning and data export
  • Quality Control: Follow all quality control protocols to maintain high standards.
  • Safety: Comply with laboratory safety procedures and proper PPE usage.
  • Documentation: Complete all documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organised workspace through regular housekeeping.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, 'can-do' attitude
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • A certificate 4 in lab techniques or BSc degree
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
  • Available to work the 1-9pm night shift
  • Physically fit, comfortable working both seated and standing
